Metanfora is an Italian group that formed in 2019. The members come from different musical experiences: 70s hard rock, blues, pop, rock and classical music. They sing in both Italian and English, because they believe that each song is born with its own language and cannot be translated. They wonder when humans will have just one language. In that, they like to think of their father as the blues, their mother as Italian popular music, and their future as rock and roll.

Metanfora

The band name, Metanfora, combines the words “metaphor” and “anphora,” which are ancient clay vases. They find inspiration from the artist Piero Arcieri, who paints music, flowers and broken anphors. Accordingly, their songs include copious metaphors and encrypted messages. They write about love, madness, deep inner worlds that can only be expressed through music, and as humanist musicians, they tell the stories of the people.

Metanfora actively performs live at pubs, theaters and popular festival stages. They had many concerts in Trentino (northern Italy) in 2019 and some in 2020-2021 in the pandemic time.

“Metanfora has an electrifying sound that is deeply rooted in rock, but includes elements of blues, Italian folk and even psychedelia. The result is an alluring and eclectic collection of songs that I’m thrilled to help share with the world. “
